Red, yellow and orange

All elements conspired this morning to paint a fall masterpiece before my eyes. In an incident that I would not normally deem happy, a truck let fly all of the glorious papers that were supposed to be kept under wraps in its bed. Drawing from a palette of warm pumpkin, burnt orange, mustard yellow and apple red, these small, square papers danced through the air as cars stirred and wind spurred them on. I felt cozily blanketed as vibrantly colored papers fell around my car. As the papers flitted about, my eyes caught the reflection of these colors in the trees surrounding me. What resulted was a dancing sea of autumn, and I could hardly keep my eyes on the road. I don't know if it's normal to get so excited about colors, but I felt an acute awakening at such a poignant display of color and motion.

D.C. autumns are always beautiful. But this year Mother Nature went above and beyond. I don't know what it is but the colors are extraordinarily vibrant.

Walking home from school yesterday, I'll admit, emotion swept over me as I walked through the woods and down my street. The scenery dominated in a way that made everything else in my life feel like a mere distraction. I even found myself making an effort to catch my breath—needing to think beyond the visual to restore my body to it's rhythm.

Haha, I posted on this today, too. Well, not the accident, but Autumn. Is Autumn supposed to be capitalized? I'll google it later.

I wish you could have taken a picture. And I'm curious about the circumstances of the accident. I'll ask for story time later, just to warn.

I don't know why, but our autumns her in Okie are just not that colorful. We have the trees, the leaves just don't change color like they are supposed to. Well, glad it was a paper spill and not some toxic sludge spill! Probably wouldn't have had the same effect on you!
